LESLIE CUYJET is a performer and choreographer based in Brooklyn. After earning her B.F.A. at the University of Illinois in 2003, Leslie relocated to New York where she has danced in the companies of Cynthia Oliver, Hilary Easton, and continues to work with Jane Comfort & Company. She has also performed in many independent projects ranging from performance art group JVA Flag Corps to Tere O’Connor to the first New York City Beard and Mustache Championships to Langhorne Slim’s newest music video. She is one of the founding members of Happydog, a performance company that practices a model of virtual collaboration across state and artistic disciplinary lines. Her work with and outside of Happydog has shown in Brooklyn, New Orleans, Louisville, and Chicago. Leslie’s recent work, To Infinity!, showed at the 2008 Movement Research Spring Festival. She is also left-handed and a member of the Park Slope Food Co-op. |
